Liverpool have reportedly missed out on signing Croatian wonderkid Luka Vuskovic to Premier League rivals Tottenham.
According to the Daily Mail, the Reds were one of numerous top English sides interested in signing the 16-year-old Hajduk Split defender, though Tottenham have now won the race for Vuskovic.
The teenager is the Croatian side’s youngest-ever goalscorer and is regarded by experts as one of the most exciting talents in all of European football.
And for Liverpool, missing out on Vuskovic could be seen as a massive blow, with the defender a player who could have blossomed into something quite special had he decided to move to Anfield.
However, the youngster has now made his decision, with Vuskovic set to join Tottenham despite interest from Liverpool, as well as Manchester City and Newcastle United.

Indeed, with Liverpool having numerous talented defensive prospects, adding Vuskovic to their ranks would have been quite the move for the Anfield side, though Tottenham have now ruined this plan.

Vuskovic is clearly already on the path to stardom having made waves in the Croatian top-flight with one of the country’s biggest and best clubs.
And for Liverpool, they might soon regret not pushing hard enough to sign Vuskovic, who at 16 could have been an incredible prospect to add to their youth ranks this year.
With Tottenham winning the race, though, one of Liverpool’s closest rivals in the Premier League now have a potential gem on their hands, and the decision to not sign Vuskovic could soon haunt the Reds.
