Wataru Endo has been showered with praise after the Liverpool midfielder’s performance for Japan last night against Germany.

The 31-year-old captained the Asian giants in what was to be a historic win for Japan, with Endo leading his nation to a 4-1 win against Hansi Flick’s side.

The Liverpool midfielder was key in midfield as Germany fell apart in embarrassing fashion, and Japan’s media have been there to praise Endo’s display.

Starting the game in midfield, Endo was nothing short of a one-man army for Japan in their massive win against Germany.

Goal Japan praised the midfielder for his tenacious performance, with Gekisaka lauding Endo’s ‘unbelievable’ work rate and leadership for the Blue Samurai.

The biggest praise, though, came from Yahoo Japan, who hailed the Liverpool star as a ‘midfield genius’ in what might have been one of Endo’s best games on the international stage.

The international break can serve as a time for club fans to realise what sort of players they actually have on their books, and Endo might have just down that now for Liverpool supporters.

The midfielder was nothing short of magnificent against Germany this weekend, and Liverpool fans will be eager to see more from Endo in the Premier League.

Indeed, the midfielder has been an underrated superstar for Japan in recent years, and Liverpool will be keen to see similar displays from Endo in the coming weeks.
