Arsenal defender Takehiro Tomiyasu has praised Liverpool midfielder Wataru Endo after the 31-year-old captained Japan to a historic win against Germany.

Taking to Instagram, the fullback praised the new Anfield star’s post after Endo led the Blue Samarui to a massive 4-1 victory against Germany in their home country.

Endo joined Liverpool this summer in an £18m deal from VfB Stuttgart, with the midfielder signed in part to fill in the leadership void left by Jordan Henderson.

And early signs have been impressive, with Endo’s reputation amongst Liverpool fans no doubt about to hit a new high after his latest performance from Japan.

Moreover, praise from a player like Tomiyasu will once again put a much-needed spotlight on Endo, who this international break with Japan has already impressed many Liverpool supporters.

Beating Germany remains no small feat despite the European giants awful results in recent months under former Bayern Munich manager Hansi Flick.

Yet for Endo, the midfielder’s performance against the four-time FIFA World Cup winners will go down as a massive hit amongst Liverpool supporters.

Fans are yet to see the best from Endo for the Reds, yet this performance against Germany will get supporters excited about what’s potentially to come from the 31-year-old later this month.
