Liverpool fans reportedly gave Mohamed Salah a warm welcome at Anfield amid rumours that the winger could move to Saudi Arabia.

According to the Liverpool Echo’s Ian Doyle, supporters at Anfield gave the 31-year-old a huge cheer when Salah’s name was read out ahead of Liverpool’s Premier League clash against Aston Villa.

Salah was subject to a £150m transfer offer from Al-Ittihad as the Saudi Arabia club look to bring the Egyptian international to the Middle East before their transfer window closes on Thursday.

Yet so far, Liverpool have been reluctant to let Salah leave, with the reaction the attacker received today a good indicator that the forward is still a massive part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the season.

The likelihood of Salah leaving Liverpool still remains low, and the reception the forward received today from fans could go a long way in keeping the attacker in England.

Liverpool’s fanbase is one of the most passionate in England, and Salah has felt the love ever since making the move to Merseyside in 2017.

Indeed, Salah not playing under Klopp feels like an alternate reality that nobody wants to live in, and the winger will no doubt be pleased with what he has heard today at Anfield from supporters.
