Fabrizio Romano has detailed how some Liverpool figures reacted to Al-Ittihad’s deadline offer for Mohamed Salah, which as a whole was worth £150m.

Speaking to CaughtOffside, the transfer guru claimed that officials at Liverpool were shocked over the figures involved in Al-Ittihad’s bid for Salah, with an even bigger offer rumoured to be in the pipeline.

Whilst Liverpool survived deadline day, Saudi Arabia’s window shutting on Thursday means the Reds aren’t out of the woods yet with Salah.

And Romano has now detailed how officials at the club reacted when Al-Ittihad made their £150m offer for Salah earlier this week.

The journalist said: “There was a big shock at Liverpool as well, as some figures at the club were not expecting the kind of numbers we saw with the bid coming in from Al Ittihad.

“They were anticipating a bid, but it was £100m plus add-ons up to a potential total fee of £150m. So this was something really huge for Mo Salah, and someone at Liverpool was really surprised.”

With four days left in the Saudi Arabia transfer window, Liverpool will need to be on guard as Al-Ittihad plot their next move for Salah.

The 31-year-old is too good a played for Jurgen Klopp to offload as the winger remains key to Liverpool’s plans for the upcoming season.

As a result, Liverpool need to be alert to any movement from the Saudi Arabia side, who could soon make an even bigger offer for the forward in the coming days.
