Danny Murphy has said Luis Diaz could have the potential to replace Mohamed Salah if Liverpool were to sell the winger in the coming days.
Writing for the Daily Mail, the pundit said that the Colombian international has been a welcome returnee for the Reds this season, with Diaz missing most of last year due to injury.
And Murphy now thinks the 26-year-old has the quality to replace Salah, with the former Anfield star saying: “Luis Diaz is an electric player, he has been like a new signing.”

With Diaz starting the new season with a bang, the former FC Porto star could be an ideal player to replace Salah, even though the winger is more suited out on the left than the right.
However, Diaz has shown he is more than capable of operating on the opposite flank, and the forward’s form this season has surprised many supporters on what he can do for Liverpool this season.

Indeed, the Colombian forward has the quality to become a superstar for Liverpool, and replacing Salah could already be in Jurgen Klopp’s plans for the Anfield winger in the future.
Murphy might have a point in Diaz replacing Salah at Liverpool

Salah is without question one of three players in Liverpool’s squad that will be near-impossible to replace. Yet in Diaz, the Reds could have an answer.
With Murphy now claiming that the attacker could be a replacement for Salah, there’s every chance that this could actually be in the club’s plans if the winger were to leave the club.
Moreover, given how well Diaz suits Liverpool’s system, the change could be flawless if Al-Ittihad were to return for Salah between now and the end of the Saudi Arabia window.
