The Bundesliga giants had agreed to sign Palhinha from Fulham, with a medical and media duties all taking place in Bavaria.

However, a deal has now collapsed, and although this might mean Gravenberch to Liverpool is now off, it seems like Palhinha’s failed move to Bayern won’t stop the 21-year-old from joining the Reds.

Given all the factors at play, it felt likely that one of Gravenberch or Palhinha was going to collapse today, yet Liverpool have done well to get their transfer done early.

The former Ajax star joins as one of the Anfield side’s most exciting signings of the summer, with Bayern now stuck with no replacement for Gravenberch.

Indeed, Bayern could have easily pulled the plug on Gravenberch’s move to Liverpool. Yet with the German window now shut, the Bundesliga side are helpless in stopping the midfielder join the Reds.
