Imminent new Liverpool signing Ryan Gravenberch didn’t do enough to overcome his difficulties at Bayern Munich.

Gravenberch stands on the verge of a move to Liverpool, putting an end to a miserable season in Germany with Bayern.

Having arrived with a reputation as one of the most promising young midfielders in Europe, plenty was expected of the former Ajax man in Bavaria.

But having played just 568 minutes of Bundesliga football he’s once again on the move. And according to The Athletic, sources at Bayern were disappointed with the 21-year-old.

Speaking anonymously, one source claims that the German champions didn’t see enough determination from Gravenberch.

The Dutch international was reportedly viewed as being a player unprepared to face the first major setback of a so far smooth career.

Having been a golden boy at Ajax, Gravenberch was met with a ‘headwind’ at Bayern.

Faced with not playing for the first time in his career, insiders are said to have felt that the Netherlands international wasn’t prepare to do everything possible to knuckle down and get through it.

The club are also claimed to have been aggravated by Gravenberch’s frequent declarations of unhappiness in the Dutch press.

Fingers crossed he has a much better time of things at Liverpool.
