Al Ittihad are getting ready to test Liverpool’s resolve on keeping Mohamed Salah, with a monster bid set to arrive.
Talk of Salah possibly moving to Saudi Arabia has ramped up over the past 10 days. But despite plenty of chatter about an imminent offer, nothing has materialised.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs though, that’s likely about to change. Taking to Twitter last night, Jacobs claimed that Al Ittihad are ready to put even more money than initially thought down on Salah. Liverpool could be about to receive an enormous proposal.
“Liverpool’s not-for-sale stance on Mo Salah hasn’t changed,” reports the journalist. “No formal offer has been placed yet either. But Saudi dealmakers do still plan to table a massive bid. Sources indicate a €150m [£128m] initial package could even be improved to €200m [£171m] to test Liverpool’s resolve.”

Despite all the furore over Mo, the Reds have so far dealt with everything with a straight bat: he’s going nowhere. Even in the face of such a huge bid, it sounds like that will stay the same.

And thankfully, according to Jacobs, Salah is also staying calm amidst continued speculation over his future.
“All irrelevant if LFC stick to their position and no encouragement has been given to date to Al-Ittihad,” he says. “But no doubt Al-Ittihad haven’t just walked away. Whether they get Salah or not now they want to make a splash. Salah said to be calm and focused despite all the headlines.”
That’s our, Mo. He isn’t going anywhere, is he?
