Ryan Gravenberch has arrived on Merseyside to sign as a new Liverpool player today.

News broke last night that the Reds had finally agreed a fee with Bayern Munich for the 21-year-old midfielder. And with the transfer window shutting at 11pm today, there’s no time to waste.

With that in mind, journalist David Ornstein has shared a morning update on Twitter on the progress of Gravenberch’s imminent arrival.

“Ryan Gravenberch is on Merseyside to undergo medical this morning before completing €40m [£34m] transfer from Bayern Munich to Liverpool,” Ornstein reports.

“If all goes to plan 21yo Netherlands midfielder will sign 5yr contract.”

There was some slight concern among Liverpool fans last night, after Sky Germany journalist Florian Plettenberg reported that Gravenberch’s planned flight for yesterday had been cancelled.

But thankfully, things are now pushing ahead, with it now looking virtually certain that the Reds will get their man. According to Dutch legend Ruud Gullit, they’re getting themselves a ‘wonderful’ player [Sport Buzzer].

Despite that, Liverpool fans may still be hoping for a late flurry in the centre-back market, too. But even if there are no further incomings, Gravenberch’s arrival is sure to make it an exciting deadline day on Merseyside.

Stay braced for further updates, Reds!
