Liverpool will reportedly reject any and all offers for Ibrahima Konate this week, with the defender being as protected by the Reds as Mohamed Salah is.

According to journalist Neil Jones, the French international is simply unsellable for the Anfield side, with reports emerging that Saudi Arabia are taking an interest in Konate.

Jones said: “I was told from a Liverpool perspective that they don’t expect any offers for Joe Gomez. Konate offers would be rejected, as Salah’s would.”

Given how valuable Konate is to Liverpool, it makes sense why the club would put the defender in the same category as Salah when it comes to a potential Saudi Arabia bid.

Indeed, the 24-year-old centre-back is set for a massive year at Liverpool, and the Reds are taking a big stance by saying Konate is an unsellable asset.

And for the player, this opinion held by the club will only make Konate feel more valued at Liverpool, with the defender having all the makings of becoming a superstar at Anfield in the years to come.

Konate’s worth to Liverpool is something the Reds won’t be able to find again in the market, and the club are seemingly full aware of this statement and then some.

The defender has the potential to become one of the best in the world if he can stay fit and if Konate takes the right lessons from playing alongside Virgil van Dijk.

And with Liverpool now choosing to reject any offers for the defender, the Anfield side must be strong in keeping hold of Konate, who seems keen to remain on Merseyside for quite some time.
