Reported Liverpool target Joao Felix is holding out for a move to Barcelona.
Felix has surprisingly been named as a possible target for Liverpool in the event that Mohamed Salah leaves for Saudi Arabia over the next 48 hours.
But with that seemingly now an unlikely prospect, it’s hard to see why they’d go for the 23-year-old otherwise. With that in mind, journalist Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Felix has other ideas anyway.

“Barcelona are prepared to activate the ‘operation Joao Felix’ in the next 48h — board working to find solution to make it happen with FFP,” Romano reports on Twitter.
“Joao, only waiting for Barca since that interview in July. He’d only consider other clubs or Saudi if Barca deal collapses.”

Felix holding out for Barca move
This is a transfer we can happily say that we’re not too bothered about Liverpool ‘missing out’ on.
Although Felix is a very good player – one Jurgen Klopp once called ‘outstanding’ in fact [Liverpool ECHO], he’s also really flopped at Atletico Madrid.
Yes, he’s had his moments, but for the £113m they paid for him, Los Colchoneros would have expected a whole lot more.

Felix also didn’t exactly pull up too many trees during his stint in the Premier League with Chelsea last season.
There had been reports that the Portugal international may opt for a move back to Stamford Bridge. But it seems as though Barca is his preference.
And good luck to Felix, he’ll probably have a better time of it at Camp Nou. He certainly looks a better fit for Xavi than he ever did for Diego Simeone.
And in truth, Felix has never looked like much of a fit for Klopp, either. The former Benfica man does have certain shades of Roberto Firmino, but the ship to replace the Brazilian has long since sailed.
