Liverpool reportedly don’t want to sell Joe Gomez despite interest Premier League and Saudi Arabia interest in the defender.

According to the Daily Mail, the Reds are reluctant to let the 26-year-old centre-back leave this summer, with Al-Ittihad and West Ham all eyeing the former Charlton Athletic star.

Gomez came off the bench in Liverpool’s 2-1 win against Newcastle United on Sunday, where Jurgen Klopp hailed the defender’s performance as ‘super-special’ as the Reds secured an unlikely win.

Now, though, interest is picking up for Gomez, with Liverpool unwilling to sell the centre-back given how little time there now is in the window to find a replacement.

Indeed, Gomez seemed like a sure bet to be sold this window after a dreadful season last year, yet the defender has now seemingly won himself back into Klopp’s good books at Liverpool.

Whilst Virgil van Dijk’s suspension could see Gomez start the next few games, Liverpool soon regret not allowing the defender leave amid late interest.

Time might be running out for Liverpool in the market, yet with interest in Gomez now there, the Reds could be making a mistake in not allowing the 26-year-old to leave.

As we know, Gomez was woeful last season as many fans this summer expected the former Charlton man to leave for good this window.

And with interest now actually there, Liverpool might regret not selling Gomez, with a replacement something the Reds would have had in mind already heading into the market.
