Bayer Leverkusen defender Piero Hincapie is reportedly open to a move to Liverpool, with the Reds linked with the Ecuador international.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the £60m-rated youngster is on Liverpool’s radar, though the Merseyside giants are yet to make an offer for Hincapie amid their ongoing midfield hunt.
Hincapie is regarded by many as one of the most exciting defenders in world football, though injury has currently kept the Bundesliga prospect out on the sidelines for most of the year.

That hasn’t stopped Liverpool from chasing Hincapie, though, with Jurgen Klopp keen to add a defender to his ranks if financially possible.
And Hincapie could be an option, with Jacobs saying about Liverpool’s interest: “I’m still told from people close to the player that there has been no offer.

“Two Premier League clubs have been linked and have certainly made enquiries and the player, by the way, would be very open to a Liverpool move but I’m not aware of a Liverpool offer at this point.”
Liverpool have to try and sign Hincapie this summer

Liverpool’s midfield issues have engulfed the majority of the Reds’ business this summer, so much so that problems at the back have been completely neglected.
A good case could be made than a new defender might be more important for Liverpool now than another midfielder, which makes Hincapie an appealing option for the Merseyside giants.
The defender is one of the most exciting talents in all of Europe, and with the youngster open to joining Liverpool, the Premier League giants should consider moving for Hincapie in the coming days.
