Mohamed Salah has been named in Liverpool’s starting XI against Newcastle United amid reports that the winger could soon be leaving Anfield.

The Reds announced on their official Twitter account that the Egyptian international will again start for Liverpool in their massive Premier League clash this afternoon against Newcastle.

Italian journalist Rudy Galetti reported this weekend that Salah has told Liverpool he wants to leave this summer amid growing interest from Saudi Arabian side Al-Ittihad.

With speculation flying around surrounding Salah’s future, whether or not the winger will play today has been a major talking point in Liverpool circles this week.

However, the £34m attacker getting the nod in the starting XI against Newcastle is a big sign that Salah could be staying at Liverpool this summer.

With the English transfer window ending next week, Salah to Saudi Arabia remains a possible transfer, yet the winger starting today is massive.

Jurgen Klopp is no stranger to dropping unsettled players, and Salah starting today is a massive sign that the forward could be staying at Liverpool this window.

Moreover, a win for the Reds could convince Salah to remain at Liverpool, with a move to Saudi Arabia something the attacker shouldn’t be thinking about at this stage in his career.
