Liverpool are reportedly considering Bayern Munich attacker Leroy Sane as a potential replacement for Mohamed Salah.
Football Transfers claim that the former Manchester City star is an option for the Reds in their long-term plan to replace Salah, who could be off to Saudi Arabia in 2024.
With Federico Chiesa also an option for Liverpool, Sane to many Anfield supporters would be an odd option given his strong links to City, with the winger even having a tattoo of his former club on his back.

Signed by Bayern in 2020 for a reported £55m, Sane is still considered one of the best wide-attackers in Europe, and on paper, the forward could be an exceptional player to replace Salah.
However, given his ties to City and Bayern’s likely reluctance to sell Sane, a transfer could be hard for Liverpool to pull off from almost all angles.

Moreover, with Sane turning 28 in January, Liverpool could find it best to identify a younger player to replace Salah in the summer of 2024.
Liverpool should reconsider Sane interest

There’s no denying Sane’s abilities, with the Bayern star one of the best wingers in the world and a player many top clubs would love to have on their books.
Yet for Liverpool and in their quest to replace Salah, the Germany international makes little sense, with a much younger option perhaps the best route for the Reds to approach this task.
Indeed, replacing Salah will be a big moment for Liverpool, and Sane might be an option that will be unconvincing to supporters given his age and previous links to City.
