Liverpool could reportedly still move for Joao Palhinha, though Fulham’s asking price for the midfielder could make a difficult hard to do.
According to journalist Dean Jones, the Portuguese international remains an option for Liverpool as a fourth and final midfield signing this summer.
However, with Fulham demanding as much as £80m for the 28-year-old, Liverpool could be hesitant to move for Palhinha, who has also only played one full season in the Premier League.

With the midfielder also out through injury, it could be some time before Liverpool even get to see Palhinha run out as an official Red if a deal was to happen.
However, despite the obstacles, Palhinha remains a target for Liverpool, and there’s a slim chance that a move could happen this summer.

Jones said: “I’m not going to rule out that they’re going to go for Palhinha, because I know that they definitely looked at him in the past and they do like him.”
Palhinha should only be seen as Liverpool’s last resort

Palhinha fits the exact profile Liverpool are looking for this summer, yet given his age and Fulham’s asking price, the midfielder should be a last resort for the Reds.
As we know, there are plenty of midfielders in the market Liverpool are looking at beyond Palhinha, and the Portuguese star must be viewed as a player the Anfield side only move for if it’s the only choice.
With 11 days left to go in the window, anything is possible for Liverpool, and Palhinha could re-emerge as a realistic target depending on what happens in the coming days.
