Jurgen Klopp has not completely ruled out the sale of Alisson Becker from Liverpool this summer.

Alisson has worryingly been linked with a move to Saudi Arabia over recent days. In a window where Liverpool unexpectedly lost both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho, that’s likely to make supporters nervous.

As a result, Klopp was given the chance to reassure fans during his pre-Bournemouth press conference today. And although he did say that he doesn’t expect any further outgoings, the manager did worryingly admit that he can’t be certain of anything.

“The window is open and until then pretty much everything can happen,” said the 56-year-old. “On outgoings side from my side, nothing will happen. But I learned a lot of things in this window so we will see on that.

“Incoming, still time, so let’s have a look and that’s what we will do.”

Klopp fails to rule out Alisson exit

In fairness to Jurgen, he’s simply being honest here. If this window has taught us anything, it’s that you never know who’s head will be turned by the money on offer in Saudi Arabia.

However, it would have been nice to have had a little more assertion from the boss on this point.

The question about Alisson was also wrapped up to include Mohamed Salah, too. As perhaps Liverpool’s two most important players, Klopp could have been firm and said that whatever comes the Reds’ way, they won’t sell these two.

Instead, the German left the door ever so slightly ajar.

Consequently, Reds fans may be sweating slightly until the Saudi window closes on September 20th.

Fortunately, Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas has already pretty much confirmed that the 31-year-old would reject the Saudi call if it came.

But in terms of Alisson, Liverpool could do with a firm rebuttal from anyone close to the £67m man. Put our minds at ease, Ali.
