Mario Gomez has detailed what it was like to train alongside Wataru Endo ahead of the midfielder’s move to Liverpool.
Speaking to Sky Sports News, the former Bundesliga striker revealed that the Japanese international is a strong competitor in training, with the duo playing together briefly for VfB Stuttgart.
Gomez said about Endo’s mentality in training: “I was always telling him just to keep calm, keep doing what he was doing because he did amazing in training.

“After the game we had the four against four. When I came into the dressing room, I was always telling the coach to put me in the same team as Wataru because then we will never lose. This is how it started.”
With Jurgen Klopp a huge fan of players who train well, Endo could quickly become a favourite for the Liverpool manager once the Japanese international is signed and officially a Red.
