Liverpool are reportedly on the verge of signing VfB Stuttgart midfielder Wataru Endo, and there’s already been some lofty claims made about the Japanese international.
As per the Bundesliga’s official website, the German top-flight have compared the 30-year-old to former Premier League legend and ex-Real Madrid star Claude Makelele.
The Bundesliga said about Endo’s style of play: “Constantly on the lookout for danger deep in the engine room and immediately aware of the right options going forward.

“Endo has all of the tough, yet accurate tackling abilities and eye for a defence-splitting pass as former France legend Makelele.”
Given how little noise has been made about Endo this summer, Liverpool fans might be taken aback over this incredible comparison to one of football’s modern greats.

However, the styles between the two players can be compared, and Liverpool could soon have one heck of a talent on their hands once Endo’s move to Anfield is confirmed.
Liverpool could have their own Makelele in Endo

A player so good they named a position after him, few will ever come close to the quality and class Makelele possessed in the Premier League, yet Liverpool could get there with Endo.
The Japanese international is a tidy operator who can start counters all by himself with his accurate tackles and impressive passing, all traits Liverpool are missing in the midfield.
The signing might have come out of nowhere, but there’s no denying that Liverpool might have landed themselves a coup in Endo if the Japanese star can hit the ground running at Anfield.
