Bundesliga expert Jan Aage Fjortoft has claimed that Liverpool have landed themselves a bargain in Wataru Endo.
Taking to Twitter, the former Norwegian international was full of praise for the 30-year-old leader, with Endo seemingly acquiring quite the reputation for himself in Germany during his time with Stuttgart.
The Japanese international has seemingly come out of nowhere in Liverpool’s quest to sign a defensive midfielder, with Endo now closing in on a once-in-a-lifetime transfer to Anfield.
And the Bundesliga star arrives with a good reputation on his hands, with Fjortoft a huge fan of Endo ahead of his transfer to Liverpool, a move that has caught everyone by surprise.
Indeed, praise of Endo’s passing and his ability to keep the ball will particularly interest Liverpool fans, who could soon have a ruby in the dust once the midfielder is through the front door and signed.

Liverpool have needed a defensive midfielder all summer, and the Reds have finally got their man in Endo, though there is likely to be another addition based on Jurgen Klopp’s current options.
At 30, Endo is in the prime of his career and has all the qualities to star at Anfield with the right coaching and system, with the midfielder also bringing some much-needed leadership to the squad.
The transfer has come out of nowhere and there will be some doubts over if Endo can deliver, but for what Liverpool need, the Japanese international could become a star.
