Didi Hamann has tipped Wataru Endo to be a good signing for Liverpool, with the Reds closing in on a deal for the 30-year-old midfielder.
Taking to Twitter, the former Liverpool star has predicted that the Japanese international will surprise Anfield supporters having impressed at VfB Stuttgart last season.
News broke last night that Liverpool had agreed a £17m deal to sign Endo, with the midfielder expected to fill the voids left by both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho in the hole.
A player regarded for his professionalism and work-rate, Endo is a midfielder who ticks a lot of boxes for what Liverpool are looking for in a new signing before the end of the window.
Whilst the midfielder is a surprise signing with few Liverpool fans even aware of Endo’s existence, there’s every right for supporters to be excited by the 30-year-old’s arrival at Anfield this week.

Endo is exactly what Liverpool needed this month

A defensive midfielder has been needed at Liverpool the very minute both Fabinho and Henderson left this summer, and signing Endo is something the Reds should have done weeks ago.
Although few are aware of his qualities, there’s no denying that Endo’s credentials check out, with the Japanese international an ideal signing for Jurgen Klopp.
Moreover, with the likes of Hamann approving this transfer, Endo could become a star for the Anfield side, who have never needed a defensive midfielder as badly as they do now.
