Romeo Lavia could reportedly change his mind on signing for Liverpool this summer based on Chelsea’s approach for the Southampton midfielder.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the 19-year-old has had his mind set on a move to Liverpool for the majority of the window, though Chelsea’s recent bid for the youngster could soon change Lavia’s mind.
The Blues came in with a £55m bid for Lavia last week, a definitive approach that has seemingly impressed the Southampton star, whereas Liverpool have had three bids rejected for the Championship talent.

As a result, Lavia could soon have his head turned from joining Liverpool despite how certain it looked that the midfielder will make a move to Anfield based on his eagerness to return up north.
Indeed, a decision could be made soon, with Jacobs saying: “I think that Lavia had a period where he maybe thought this isn’t going to get done from Liverpool as they were just bidding and bidding and bidding.

“And that’s when Chelsea swiftly came in and were more decisive and that turned Lavia’s head a little bit but make no mistake, it’s not quite like Caicedo because with Caicedo he always had Chelsea fixed in his mind.”
Liverpool can’t allow Lavia to change his mind

Lavia has seemingly been set on a move to Liverpool all summer, yet with the time now coming up for the midfielder to leave Southampton, the Reds can’t allow the youngster to slip through their fingers.
With Caicedo bound for Chelsea, Liverpool simply can’t afford to miss out on their dream alternative to the Blues, who looks ready to spend big on the Belgian.
Time is of the essence for Liverpool, and every hour now counts if the Anfield side are to get a deal across the line for Lavia.
