Liverpool are reportedly preparing a new offer to sign Romeo Lavia, with the Reds planning to match Chelsea’s most recent bid for the midfielder.
According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Anfield side will return to Southampton with a new package for the 19-year-old talent, with Chelsea currently having a £55m offer on the table for Lavia.
Lauded by Total Football Analysis as a ‘phenomenal’ talent, Lavia currently looks closer to a move to Chelsea than Liverpool despite the Merseyside club chasing the Belgian for most of the summer.
However, this update is an incredibly promising one for Liverpool, with the Reds now willing to do all they can to bring Lavia to Anfield having lost ground in the transfer race.
Indeed, Lavia has made it clear all summer that he wants a move to Liverpool, and Jurgen Klopp now working on matching Chelsea’s offer could soon result in the midfielder officially joining the Premier League giants.

Liverpool matching Chelsea’s Lavia offer should secure the deal

Liverpool and Chelsea’s ongoing rivalry in the transfer market has reached boiling point this week over Moises Caicedo, yet it could now reach a new level with Lavia.
The Belgian international has been Liverpool’s main target in the window for some weeks now, and having had three bids rejected by the Saints, the winning bid has to be made soon from the Reds.
Matching Chelsea’s offer will be a big step in the right direction for Liverpool signing Lavia, who himself seems keen to make the move to Anfield over Stamford Bridge.
