Liverpool have reportedly made an offer to sign Brighton & Hove Albion midfielder Moises Caicedo, outbidding Chelsea’s latest proposal for the youngster.

According to the Telegraph’s Matt Law, the Reds have outbid their Premier League rivals for the Ecuador international, though Caicedo is believed to prefer a move to Chelsea this summer.

Brighton have valued Caicedo at £100m all summer, and it now appears that Liverpool could come close to matching this incredible transfer figure despite chasing Southampton’s Romeo Lavia for the past few weeks.

Lauded as ‘incredible’ by Brighton teammate Adam Webster, Caicedo signing for Liverpool could be one of the best deals any Premier League side makes this summer.

And for the Reds to pull this move out of the bag seemingly out of nowhere is nothing short of incredible, especially with how Liverpool’s chase for Lavia has gone in recent days.

Liverpool have been linked with Caicedo for most of the summer, though few fans would have expected the Reds to break the bank and make an actual move for the Brighton star given the figures that have been reported.

However, after this latest update, there’s now a chance that the Ecuador international could move to Anfield if Caicedo accepts Liverpool’s proposal, which could be possible given their European status.

Indeed, Liverpool’s bid to sign Caicedo has come out of nowhere and has shocked everyone in the footballing world, and the Reds could be serious contenders for the Premier League if a transfer can be agreed.
