Tottenham have reportedly joined the race to sign Perr Schuurs, with the Torino defender also wanted by Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Dutch centre-back is an option for the north London side as Ange Postecoglou looks to make one more defensive signing this summer having already beaten Liverpool to Micky van de Ven.
Tuttosport have already reported this summer that Torino want at least €50m (£43m) for Schuurs this summer, with Tuttosport also claiming earlier this year that Klopp is a big fan of the 23-year-old.
The Dutchman was one of the best defenders in Serie A last season as Schuurs impressed for Torino, and Tottenham could now be an option for the former Ajax star, who is keen on a move to the Premier League.
Indeed, Liverpool’s long-term interest in Schuurs could give them the edge in any move for the Torino defender, but given how eager Tottenham are on signing another defender, the Reds could face a serious issue.

Liverpool can’t let Tottenham win race for Schuurs

Liverpool have been chasing Schuurs for some time now, and with Tottenham interested in the defender, the Reds can’t allow their Premier League rivals to win the race for the Dutchman.
The Torino star fits Liverpool’s style of defending to a tee, with Schuurs an ideal backup for the likes of Virgil van Dijk and Ibrahima Konate as well as an incredible improvement on Joel Matip and Joe Gomez.
As a result, Liverpool can’t afford to lose out on Schuurs to Tottenham, who alongside Van de Ven could make for an incredible defensive partnership heading into the new Premier League season.
