Micah Richards has tipped Liverpool to be a different club this season in the Premier League after their disappointing finish last year.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, the former Manchester City defender has predicted Jurgen Klopp’s side to improve on their fifth-place standing from last season, with Liverpool eager to return to the top.
Plenty has been made from Liverpool’s summer activity, with Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai both being signed with more additions expected before the closure of the window.

Whilst a Premier League title push might be out of Liverpool’s reach for another season, a top-four challenge is almost certain for the Reds, with a return to the UEFA Champions League a must for the Anfield side.
And Richards has predicted Liverpool to show something new this season, with the pundit saying: “I think Liverpool this season are going to be something different.

“I think they will get a few more in before the transfer window is up. Mac Allister is a good player but not just a good player, he is what they need in terms of hard work.”
Liverpool can make a statement in the Premier League next season

As mentioned, Liverpool are probably one or two transfer windows off from having a squad deep enough to compete with the likes of Manchester City and Arsenal for the title, yet next season could throw a surprise or two.
Liverpool have been through the grueling task of competing with City for the title on three occasions, and the likes of Virgil van Dijk, Alisson Becker and Mohamed Salah are seasoned veterans in the Premier League.
With some new faces, exciting players and experienced heads, Liverpool could surprise a few by competing for the title next season, even if their chances remain as low as they have been in some seasons.
