Fabrizio Romano has said Jurgen Klopp is a big fan of Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, though Liverpool won’t be signing the youngster this summer.

Speaking on Born and Red, the transfer journalist revealed that the German manager is a massive admirer of the French international, but Madrid aren’t looking to sell Tchouameni despite interest from Liverpool.

Romano said: “We know Liverpool are super fans. I told you how much Klopp loves the players and also other people at the club, but at the same time Real Madrid, I don’t think they are desperate with making money.”

With a reported asking price of £85m, Madrid seem intent on keeping Tchouameni this summer, with Romano even stating that it will take a ‘huge’ offer for Los Blancos to part with the midfielder.

Yet Liverpool’s extreme interest in Tchouameni could lead to something later in the window, with the midfielder potentially open to moving to Anfield if a deal can be agreed between the two parties.

Moreover, with whispers going around that Madrid could loan out Tchouameni, Liverpool might have a good chance at signing the youngster if they can beat some top European sides to the midfielder’s signature.

Tchouameni was inches away from signing with Liverpool last summer, and this year could prove to be another window of opportunity for the Reds to bring the Frenchman to Merseyside.

The midfielder would be quite the signing for Liverpool this summer, and with the Reds still obsessed with Tchouameni, there could be a chance to land the 23-year-old.

Indeed, Tchouameni would be an immense addition to Liverpool’s midfield ranks, and there could be a small chance that the Reds can make the transfer possible if they bide their time.
