Liverpool have reportedly been told by Juventus that Federico Chiesa could be sold this summer for as little as €40m (£34m).

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Old Lady are beginning to lose patience over the process of selling the Italian international, with Liverpool still interested in signing Chiesa after years of links to the winger.

As per the report, Liverpool could yet make a move for the forward despite their incredible attacking options going into the new season, and Juventus’ new asking price for Chiesa could change the Reds’ stance on the forward.

Labelled by 90min as a ‘world-class’ player, Juventus’ new desperation to sell Chiesa could lead to some sort of action from Jurgen Klopp’s side, even if Liverpool are stacked with quality players in the attack.

With midfield also a priority for the Reds and defence another area where Liverpool could do with more additions, a move for the Italian could still feel extremely unlikely for the Anfield giants this summer.

Indeed, even with Juventus slashing their asking price, Liverpool’s squad structure makes a move for the forward unsustainable, even with the Serie A star as good as he is.

Chiesa is without question an incredible forward who would be an ideal attacker for most top European sides. Yet with Liverpool as stacked as they are, the Juventus winger makes little sense as a signing this summer.

As a result, the Reds needs to ensure they’re not coaxed into doing a deal with the Old Lady for Chiesa, with midfield and defence still a major area for Liverpool to add new signings too.

Whilst there will be a temptation, Chiesa to Liverpool is a rumour that needs to be shut down as soon as possible, with the Merseyside giants not in a financial position to sign the winger this window.
