Lucas Leiva was left amazed by Luis Diaz’s goal for Liverpool against Bayern Munich, with the Colombian international impressing in Singapore.

Speaking to LFCTV, the former Anfield midfielder was stunned by the winger’s goal in Liverpool’s 4-3 loss to Bayern, with Lucas saying: “For me, Luis Diaz’s goal was incredible. He started everything and then finished it off.”

It was truly a work of art from the 26-year-old winger, with Diaz starting the entire move deep in Bayern’s half before executing the play with an audacious finish.

Although the £38m forward was unable to stop Bayern from securing the win, it was a convincing run-out from Diaz ahead of Liverpool’s last pre-season friendlies, with Jurgen Klopp now having a major choice to make.

Liverpool’s forward options have all impressed this summer in one way or another, and Diaz’s goal for Bayern was potentially the moment of the entire pre-season camp given the sheer quality on show.

Indeed, with Cody Gakpo, Diogo Jota and Darwin Nunez all showcasing their talent this summer, Diaz will have to go above and beyond to claim a starting berth for this month’s Premier League opener against Chelsea.

Liverpool’s forward options are nothing short of incredible heading into the new season, and Diaz’s cameo against Bayern should have been enough to convince Klopp to give the winger a place in the starting XI to face Chelsea.

Diaz was dangerous and creative against one of the best sides in Europe, and his goal against Bayern was arguably the best Liverpool have seen and created in all of this pre-season.

With the forward now back to his best after last season’s injury, Diaz now looks ready to show Liverpool fans what they have been missing, with the winger now a good shout to make the Reds’ first competitive XI of the campaign.
