Stewart Robson has tipped Darwin Nunez to become a superstar for Liverpool next season after a blistering run of form this summer.

Speaking on ESPN FC, the pundit predicted the 24-year-old attacker to take his game a whole new level in the new campaign after an impressive pre-season run that has so far seen Nunez score four goals in three friendlies.

Taking the no. 9 shirt from Roberto Firmino, Nunez has worked hard his summer to improve his game after a mixed first year in England, yet results this pre-season are already looking promising.

And Robson is excited with what he has seen, with the ESPN pundit saying: “He’s got everything, he can run in behind, he can win balls in the air, he can play through the inside-left position.

“It’s only been his finishing that’s let him down, and if a forward keeps getting into those areas, he’s going to improve that.

“At some point his confidence will be built. I think he’s going to be an exceptional player for Liverpool for several seasons and become a star in the Premier League next season.”

Having arrived for a potential club-record fee last summer, a lot is riding on Nunez’s shoulders this season after such an average first year in England considering the fee Liverpool paid for the attacker.

However, this summer is currently showing a player who has transformed, and there’s a real shot that Nunez will be Liverpool’s breakout player of the new season.

It’s an exciting time to be a Reds fan, and with Nunez in killer form, the Uruguay international could become a serious threat for Liverpool when the Premier League returns later this month.
