Arsenal will reportedly move for rumoured Liverpool targets Romeo Lavia and Mohammed Kudus if Folarin Balogun is sold this summer.

According to the Independent, the Gunners are interested in making one more midfield signing this window, yet this will be determined if Mikel Arteta can sign the USA international.

Arsenal are looking for £40m for Balogin this summer, and a sale will prompt the north London side to move for one of Lavia or Kudus, both of which have been linked with Liverpool.

With the Reds in talks to Lavia, Arsenal joining the race for the Southampton midfielder could be a massive blow for Liverpool, with Kudus also an option for Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer.

Whilst this update could be seen as a negative piece of news for Liverpool, Arsenal are still yet to find a buyer for Balogun, with Inter Milan recently dropping their interest in the striker due to his £40m price-tag.

Indeed, Arsenal could beat Liverpool to Lavia or Kudus this summer, yet given the north London side’s inability to sell players, the Reds could be in the clear to beat their Premier League rivals to a top signing.

Arsenal’s inability to sell players for the price they want is an issue that has dogged the Premier League side, an issue Liverpool have not faced for some time. And this latest saga is a big boost for the Reds.

With the Gunners struggling to find a buyer for Balogun, Liverpool are allowed to go about their business with the likes of Lavia and work on a deal to sign a reported Arsenal target right from Arteta’s nose.

As we know, Liverpool are working hard to get the Southampton man signed up, and the longer Balogun stays on Arsenal’s books, the more time the Reds have to complete the signing.
