Manchester City are reportedly interested in Jeremy Doku as a replacement for Riyad Mahrez, with Liverpool recently linked with the Stade Rennais forward.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Belgian international is now a target for the reigning Premier League champions as City continue their search for a Mahrez replacement, with the winger joining Al-Ahli this summer.
Doku has long been linked with a move to Liverpool, yet this summer could now see the Ligue 1 star make the move to the Reds’ Premier League rivals in City, with the prospect no doubt a tempting one for the youngster.
With Liverpool not in the market for attackers, as well, a move to City would actually make a lot of sense for Doku, who is regarded as one of the best young wingers in Europe.
Indeed, Liverpool missing out on Doku having been linked with the forward since he was 16 will be a massive blow for the club, especially if City of all sides end up landing the Rennes superstar this summer.

City signing Doku will be a massive blow for Liverpool

Doku has been linked with Liverpool for what feels like forever, which is why the winger ending up at City would feel like such a hammer blow for the Reds.
The Belgian international is one of the most exciting forwards in Europe and a player who could have succeeded one of Liverpool’s current wide-options in the years to come.
However, with City now interested and in need of a wide-forward, Doku could be heading to the Etihad Stadium before Liverpool even had a chance to move for the Rennes star.
