Liverpool have reportedly made a new bid for Romeo Lavia, with the Reds submitting a £42m offer to sign the midfielder.

According to Fabrizio Romano, the Merseyside giants have come in with their latest attempt to land the Belgian sensation, with Liverpool now making a £42m for Southampton to sign Lavia.

Liverpool have made multiple approaches for Lavia this summer with the Saints shooting down each attempt, yet there could now be a real chance that Southampton accept this newest bid.

The Belgian international is keen on a move to Liverpool, and with less than two weeks to go before the start of the new season, Lavia being signed up as soon as possible could be key for Jurgen Klopp’s plans.

As we know, a replacement for Fabinho is needed at Anfield, and Lavia fits the bill perfectly, but Liverpool first have to agree on a fee with Southampton for the former Manchester City star.

Liverpool’s pursuit for Lavia feels like it should have been wrapped up weeks ago, yet the pursuit for the Premier League-proven wonderkid continues, with the Reds hopeful that this bid can be accepted.

Indeed, Lavia is keen on moving to Liverpool with Southampton’s stubbornness the only thing keeping the transfer from going through, yet this offer could change that.

£42m is a good fee for a player with just one season of Premier League football under their belt, and Southampton could accept the bid to stop this transfer saga from continuing any longer than it should.
