Jurgen Klopp was full of praise for Alexis Mac Allister after the midfielder’s performance in Liverpool’s 4-0 pre-season win against Leicester City.
Speaking to the Athletic, the Anfield manager was very impressed with what he saw from Liverpool’s new £35m signing, with Mac Allister adapting well to life under Klopp since moving from Brighton & Hove Albion.
Klopp said when asked about Mac Allister’s performance for Liverpool against Leicester: “When we found Macca between the lines, he was really good. That helped us speed the game up.”

The plan for the upcoming season seems to be partnering Mac Allister with Dominik Szoboszlai, with the potential arrival of Romeo Lavia set to complete Klopp’s new-look midfield for the new campaign.
And Mac Allister finding his feet already in Liverpool’s system is a massive boost, especially with the Reds’ Premier League opener against rivals Chelsea now just two weeks away.
