Liverpool will reportedly continue transfer talks next week for Romeo Lavia, with the midfielder closing in on a move to Anfield from Southampton.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds will resume discussions in the coming days in their bid to sign Lavia, with the Saints still holding out for a £50m transfer package for the Belgian international.
Liverpool have made two bids for Lavia this week as the Reds ramp up their attempts to bring the teenage midfielder to Merseyside as a replacement for Fabinho and Jordan Henderson.

Whilst many fans would have wanted Lavia wrapped up for now, it appears that Liverpool are biding their time with Southampton to get the best possible deal, with talks due to continue soon.
Romano said on Liverpool’s pursuit for Lavia: “Jurgen Klopp has spoken about working on solutions for midfield, but my understanding remains that the priority is still absolutely Romeo Lavia.”

“It’s not a straightforward deal. Southampton insist on £50m package for Lavia, so negotiation remain ongoing, but it will continue next week.”
Liverpool can’t afford to waste any more time with Lavia

Lavia to Liverpool is a transfer that has felt like an eternity in the making, yet this latest update seems to confirm that the Reds are now closing in on the midfielder’s signature, and no more time should be wasted.
With Liverpool’s Premier League opener two weeks away, each wasted day is a day Lavia can’t spend knowing his new club and the system Jurgen Klopp will want the midfielder to play for the new campaign.
As a result, Liverpool can’t afford to waste more time on Lavia, who could be a dream signing for the Anfield side and an ideal midfield replacement for Fabinho in the defensive anchor role.
