Bobby Clark praised in Liverpool’s pre-season friendly vs. Leicester

Former Liverpool star Gary Gillespie was full of praise for Bobby Clark as the teenage midfielder scored in the Reds’ pre-season friendly against Leicester City.

Speaking on LFCTV, the pundit was impressed with what he saw from the 18-year-old talent as Clark’s impressive finish put Liverpool 3-0 up against Leicester heading into halftime in Singapore.

Gillespie said about Clark’s goal against Leicester: “It’s a lovely, calculated finish into the bottom corner. You can see from Bobby Clark that he’s getting himself in the right position where he’s got that ability to score.”

Clark is one of many Liverpool youngsters who has been given a chance by Jurgen Klopp this pre-season to impress amongst the seniors, and the midfielder’s goal against Leicester will no doubt have caught the boss’ eyes.

The 18-year-old is regarded as one of Liverpool’s best prospects coming through at the club, and this summer has proven to be a big one for Clark, with his performance against Leicester so far one of the highlights of pre-season.

Indeed, the midfielder could become a regular for Liverpool next campaign with the Reds in the UEFA Europa League, and performances like today will go a long way in Clark making a name for himself at Anfield.

Clark headed into this summer as one of Liverpool’s players to keep an eye on, and the midfielder has impressed and then some, with his goal against Leicester a potential turning point.
