Liverpool officials reportedly have huge belief that new academy signing Harvey Owen has the potential to climb up the ranks.

According to the Daily Mail, the 14-year-old defender has some at Anfield very excited after Liverpool paid an impressive £800,000 to bring the teenager to Merseyside from Wolves.

Owen is regarded by many as one of the best talents in England and a player who could one day feature in the Premier League, with the youngster already a youth international with the Three Lions.

And in making the move to Liverpool, Owen has seemingly opened his career options up enormously, with officials at the club already impressed with what they have seen from the teenager.

Indeed, Liverpool under Jurgen Klopp has seen a number of youngsters make the move up from the academy and into the professional game, and Owen could join that list in the coming years.

Whilst there’s clearly some time to go before the defender is ready for the seniors, Owen already catching the eye of Liverpool officials will go a long way in the former Wolves prospect making a name for himself on Merseyside.

Liverpool are no strangers to developing youngsters via the academy, and Owen has all the makings of becoming the next name to become a superstar from Kirkby.

Already an England youth international and signed for almost £1m at the age of 14, hype around Owen is clealry real, and his talents will become nurtured whilst at Liverpool.

The hope will be, of course, to see the youngster one day make his senior debut for the Anfield side, and early signs seem to suggest that the teenager will do just that in the coming years.
