Liverpool are reportedly pushing to have Romeo Lavia officially signed before Jurgen Klopp and his squad fly out to Singapore for the second-leg of pre-season.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Reds are working hard to secure a deal with Southampton to sign Lavia, with a second bid worth £45m expected to be made in the coming hours for the midfielder.

Liverpool’s interest in the Belgian international has ramped up dramatically in the last 24 hours, with the Anfield side having an opening offer rejected by the Saints for their teenage wonderkid.

And now, we’re seemingly at the home stretch, with Liverpool’s next offer of £45m expected to be accepted by Southampton, who all summer have wanted £50m for Lavia.

Indeed, Liverpool are working tirelessly to sign Lavia this summer, and setting a hard deadline of this weekend will likely spring the right people into action to get the move through the door as soon as possible.

Liverpool’s second pre-season leg in Singapore will give Klopp his last real chance of working out his system for the new campaign, and having Lavia signed by then could be massive for the German manager.

As we know, Lavia will likely replace Fabinho as Liverpool’s main defensive midfielder next season, and having the Belgian working alongside Alexis Mac Allister, Curtis Jones and Dominik Szoboszlai as soon as possible is huge.

Yet that’s just what Liverpool are seemingly doing, with the Reds now pushing as hard as they seemingly can to secure the midfielder’s signature, which could be announced in the next 48 hours.
