Liverpool are reportedly ready to launch their second bid for Southampton midfielder Romeo Lavia, with the offer expected to be around £45m in total.
According to Fabrizio Romano, the Reds are moving fast to make their next attempt to sign the Belgian international, with Liverpool already having one bid rejected by Southampton for Lavia.
Hailed by Jadon Sancho as a ‘special’ player, Liverpool are acting as quick as they can to secure Lavia’s signature, with many expecting the teenager to replace Fabinho as the Reds new defensive midfielder.
The Brazilian international is due to join Saudi Arabia side Al-Ittihad this week in a £40m deal, with Jordan Henderson expected to follow Fabinho to the Middle East with Al-Ettifaq.
As a result, Liverpool’s pursuit for Lavia is hitting an all-time pace, with a second bid now in the works to sign the Southampton midfielder amid interest from Chelsea and Arsenal.
Liverpool are working expertly in Lavia pursuit

Liverpool have often been shrewd movers in the market for transfer targets, and the Merseyside giants are doing just that once again for Lavia, with £45m a good fee for the midfielder.
Just about below Southampton’s £50m asking price, this new bid could be accepted by the Saints to bring an end to one of the longest transfer sagas of the summer window.
As for Liverpool, the signing of Lavia could be one of the best the Reds make in some years, with the youngster one of the most exciting talents in all of Europe and a midfielder who could flourish under Jurgen Klopp.
