Liverpool are reportedly set to launch their first bid to sign Romeo Lavia, with the Reds to make a £35m offer for the Southampton midfielder.

According to journalist Sacha Tavolieri, the Anfield side will finally make their first official move for the Belgian midfielder after weeks of rumours, with Liverpool set to offer £35m to Southampton for Lavia.

Lavia has been strongly linked with a move to Liverpool this summer with Southampton quoting £50m for their star talent for the majority of the window, with the Reds now making a bid way below this asking price.

Whilst the strategy might be an interesting one from Liverpool, the Anfield side have proven this summer to be master negotiators based on their capture of Alexis Mac Allister, a deal that was completed for just £35m.

And the Reds could repeat a similar miracle for Lavia, with Liverpool now making their first official move for the midfielder after weeks of rumours and speculation surround the 19-year-old talent.

With both Jordan Henderson and Fabinho leaving Liverpool this week, the time is now for a move for Lavia to finally materialise, and the Merseyside giants are doing just that at long last.

Praised by Jadon Sancho as a ‘special’ player, Lavia could be a dream midfield signing for the Reds as well as a player who will bring the average age of the squad down by a considerable margin.

Moreover, the midfielder has shown during his brief time with Southampton that he has the quality to thrive in the Premier League, with Lavia a talent who can become world-class at Liverpool and under Jurgen Klopp.
