Fabio Carvalho has praised new Liverpool signing Dominik Szoboszlai having replaced the Hungarian playmaker at RB Leipzig this summer.
Speaking to the Athletic, the Portuguese winger made the claim that the 22-year-old was a good player, with Carvalho leaving Liverpool on loan for Leipzig as the Reds signed Szoboszlai in a separate deal.
The former Fulham man struggled in his first year at Anfield, and the expectation already is that Carvalho will find his feet again out in Germany, though Szoboszlai’s arrival at Liverpool already poses a big threat for the youngster.

Both players are quite similar with Szoboszlai the more experienced of the two and arguably the more versatile. And for Carvalho, it only means he has to really make a name for himself out on loan at Leipzig.
Indeed, the winger could relish the chance to succeed Szoboszlai’s achievements at Leipzig, and Carvalho himself seems confident in his abilities to keep himself relevant at Liverpool when compared to the Hungarian.
Carvalho said: “I’m a creative player and I’m good on the ball. I work hard too and not just for myself, but for the team. Everyone knows that Szoboszlai is a really good player, but I’ve got confidence in myself.”
Carvalho has to go above and beyond to best Szoboszlai next season

Liverpool signing Szoboszlai has already put Carvalho in a corner when it comes to his future at Anfield. Yet all it seems to have done is fired up the 20-year-old winger into doing better than he possibly can at Leipzig.
There’s no denying that Carvalho has the potential to become a world-class forward with the right development and training programme. And Leipzig could help the winger unlock that in the coming months.
The German side have a good reputation of taking young players and helping them push down barriers to become the best they can possibly be, and Carvalho could do this and then some in his loan spell with Leipzig.
