Liverpool are reportedly focused on signing Romeo Lavia, with the Reds currently in talks to sign the Southampton midfielder.
According to journalist Ben Jacobs, the Merseyside giants have zoned in on a move for the Belgian international as their ideal replacement for Fabinho, who is due to move to Saudi Arabia officially next week.
Lavia has been linked with a move to Liverpool for the majority of the summer, and the coming days could be crucial in the midfielder finally securing his move away from Southampton and back to the Premier League.

Valued at £50m, Lavia took the Premier League by storm last season in his breakout year with the Saints. And Liverpool are now keen on adding the former Manchester City prospect to their ranks.
Indeed, signing Lavia will be quite the challenge given Southampton’s asking price. Yet Liverpool seem determined to bring the 19-year-old to Anfield as a replacement for the Al-Ittihad-bound Fabinho this window.
Jacobs said about the Reds’ interest in Lavia: “I think Liverpool are more focused on Romeo Lavia at the moment and it’s going to be interesting to see if we get any movement on that front.”
Liverpool have to act fast to sign Lavia

Liverpool’s pursuit to sign Lavia seems to be going up a new level next week, and the Anfield side have to move fast if they’re to sign the midfielder in the coming days.
Hailed by Total Football Analysis as a ‘phenomenal’ talent, Lavia would be a dream long-term replacement for Fabinho based on his first year in the Premier League and his frightening potential.
With other clubs interested, Liverpool are in a race against the clock to secure a deal with Southampton for the midfielder, with Lavia a talent who could start for Jurgen Klopp’s side for years to come.
