Fabinho is reportedly en-route to Saudi Arabia to complete a move to Al-Ittihad, with Liverpool set to receive £40m for the transfer.
According to 90min, the Brazilian international is currently travelling to the Middle East to confirm his move to Nuno Espirito Santo’s side, with Jordan Henderson expected to follow later next week.
Fabinho’s move to Saudi Arabia has come out of nowhere, though Liverpool have seem eager to complete the transfer given the finances on offer and deals the Reds could now complete thanks to this sale.

Once lauded by the Liverpool Echo as a ‘sensational’ player, Fabinho’s exit will allow Liverpool to sign a younger defensive midfielder whilst also lowering the payroll, with Henderson’s departure expected to do the same.
Whilst the Brazilian could be a hard player to replace, there’s no denying that many fans are behind this transfer going through given the long-term implications such a deal can provide.
Indeed, a younger defensive midfielder to partner the likes of Alexis Mac Allister going forward could be a crucial move for Liverpool this summer, and Fabinho’s switch to Al-Ittihad will facilitate this change.
Fabinho to Al-Ittihad could be Liverpool’s most important summer transfer

Fabinho’s 2022/23 season was one to forget, to say the least. And whilst the midfielder returned to his best in the final matches of the campaign, there’s no denying that selling the 29-year-old this summer is a smart move.
After all, it’s hard to picture Liverpool getting as good a fee as they have this window from Al-Ittihad in the coming years for Fabinho, despite his qualities.
And as a result, this transfer could be the biggest and most important Liverpool make, with Fabinho’s departure opening up a lot of opportunities for the Reds.
