Liverpool could reportedly pay as much as £70m to sign Cheick Doucoure, with Crystal Palace reluctant to let the midfielder leave this summer.
According to the Daily Mail, the Eagles have set their stall out early on whether or not to sell the 23-year-old, with Palace naming a £70m asking price for Doucoure amid growing interest from Liverpool, who look ready to spend big again this window on a midfielder.
News broke this week that both Fabinho and Jordan Henderson have agreed to leave Anfield for Saudi Arabia, a double deal that will see Liverpool recoup at least £50m in transfer fees. And a move for Doucoure could now be on the cards.

Even with Palace naming a £70m price tag for Doucoure, this could be a fee that Liverpool are now willing to match given how much they’re bringing in this week from the sales of Fabinho and Henderson. Meaning that a move for the Ivorian could be possible.
Lauded by Breaking The Lines as an ‘oustanding’ player, Doucoure would add youth and energy to Liverpool’s midfield. And with a year of Premier League experience now under his belt, the former RC Lens star could be a fantastic addition to Jurgen Klopp’s side this summer.
Doucoure could be worth the punt for Liverpool

Doucoure enjoyed a successful if unspectacular first season in England with Palace. Yet given the youngster’s midfield role, it’s perhaps no real surprise that the 23-year-old failed to win as many headlines as expected, which is why the Mali international could be worth the punt from Liverpool.
As we know, the Reds are now in need of a new midfielder having sold both Fabinho and Henderson. And with Doucoure now available for a price, the Palace star could be a gamble worth taking given his impressive first year in the Premier League.
