Diogo Jota has hailed the ‘amazing’ link-up play between himself and Liverpool new boy Alexis Mac Allister.
Reds fans got a first glimpse of Mac Allister on the pitch yesterday. The Argentine played the second-half of the 4-2 win over Karlsrhuer SC in Germany.
It was an eye-catching run-out for Mac Allister, He picked up a nice assist for Jota to finish off the scoring and generally looked lively. And asked about Liverpool’s new No.10 after the game by LFCTV, Jota was gushing in his praise.
“I really like these kind of players, I have to tell you!” smiled the 26-year-old. “They can see the passes and it’s almost like you just need to make the run and they will see it, that’s amazing.
“I started to see that I can link up very well with him [Mac Allister] and hopefully we can take that into the season.”

The prospect of Mac Allister linking up with any of Liverpool’s current forward options really is a mouth-watering one.
Nippy, technical and with an eye for a pass, you can only imagine the kind of football the Reds could be playing once the former Brighton man is fully up to speed.
Whether it’s balls in behind for the likes of Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz, or passes to feet for Cody Gakpo, we expect Mac Allister can do it all.
But it’s perhaps Jota who best suits the little Argentine’s skillset the most. Both players are small, energetic types who love to run with the ball and harry opponents.
It’s easy to see them dovetailing with each other and simply hassling other teams into submission.
In terms of midfielders, it’s fair to say that Liverpool haven’t really had one like Mac Allister for some time now. The middle of the pitch has always been more functional than technical.
With Alexis and Dominik Szoboszlai now in the mix though, the Reds options in that department are opening up. Quite what that could mean for the likes of Jota is very exciting indeed. And it’s only the beginning.
