Wolves have reportedly stopped talks with Liverpool over Caoimhin Kelleher, with the Republic of Ireland international expected to move to Molineux.

According to the Daily Mail, Wolves have stopped their pursuit to sign the 24-year-old Liverpool player after Nottingham Forest’s attempt to sign Jose Sa collapsed, meaning Kelleher is now off the table for Julen Lopetegui’s side this summer.

The Liverpool no. 2 has been strongly linked with a permanent exit from Anfield this window with the Cork-born talent keen to make a name for himself beyond Merseyside. However, Kelleher’s quest to find a new club has proved very successful.

Praised by Nat Phillips as a ‘magnificent’ goalkeeper, Kelleher is one of many fringe players at Liverpool who could do a job at a Premier League club lower down the table, such as Wolves. However, this is seemingly one move that won’t be happening now this window.

Indeed, Kelleher has shown in his limited appearances for Liverpool over the years that he has the quality to become a star for a big club in England or beyond.
