Former Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney has tipped Liverpool to improve next season after missing out on top-four last year.
Speaking to the press via the Metro, the DC United head coach predicted the Reds to do better in the new campaign after finishing fifth last season and failing to win any silverware, with the disappointment only magnified by how close Liverpool came to winning the quadruple in 2022.
This summer has been one of immense change for Liverpool, with a whole host of players leaving Anfield at the end of their contracts and big money being spent on Alexis Mac Allister and Dominik Szoboszlai, with more signings expected to be made.

Indeed, Liverpool’s early hopes for the new season should be to finish in the top-four. And according to Rooney, the Reds will be better next season as Jurgen Klopp looks to take his side back to the top of the English footballing pyramid.
The MLS manager and former England international said: “They [City] will be the favourites again to win the Premier League. I think Liverpool will be better next season, Chelsea will be better. Hopefully Manchester United will be better as well.”
Liverpool will want to hope Rooney’s prediction becomes true

Liverpool want to move on quickly from last season’s embarrassment of missing out on top-four. And with Rooney now tipping the Reds to improve in the upcoming campaign, there will be hope around the camp that the Anfield side can make this new prediction come true.
As we know, Liverpool have spent well this summer and are likely to add more quality to their squad in the final six weeks of the window. And qualifying for the UEFA Champions League should be the bare minimum for Klopp and his team for the upcoming season.
