Sky Sports reporter says Liverpool want to sign ‘world class’ £70m player

Liverpool have reportedly been offered the chance to sign PSG midfielder Marco Verratti, who could leave the French giants this summer.

According to Sky Sports News reporter Kaveh Solhekol, the Italian international has been offered out to two Premier League sides, believed to be Liverpool and Chelsea, with PSG open to offloading the 30-year-old superstar for a fee of around £70m in what would be one of the more surprising deals of the window.

Rumours about Verratti leaving PSG have intensified in recent weeks, with this latest update seemingly indicating that the midfielder could actually leave the French capital amid interest from Liverpool. And a move to the Premier League could now very much be on the cards for the Ligue 1 superstar.

Indeed, Liverpool signing Verratti would be quite the twist. Yet the midfielder might have now actually been offered to the Reds. Solhekol said: “We’ve also been told that two Premier League clubs are interested in signing him. The names we were told were Liverpool and Chelsea.”

Verratti has been a mainstay for PSG ever since their Qatari takeover. And the Italian leaving Paris for Liverpool would be nothing short of remarkable, especially given how much the Merseyside giants could have to pay to sign the 30-year-old maestro.

Indeed, EPSN lauded Verratti as ‘world-class’ after years of dominating for PSG and the Italian national team. And whilst Liverpool could be a great move for the midfielder, it would be one of the most surreal deals of the entire summer if such a move was to actually happen.
