Liverpool reportedly have no intention of selling Luis Diaz this summer after Al-Hilal made a rumoured £43m bid to sign the Colombian international.

According to journalist Duncan Castles, the Reds are eager to keep hold of the 26-year-old winger at all costs after Record reported that the Saudi Arabia side made an offer to sign Diaz, with Liverpool opposed to any sort of sale this summer.

Diaz joined Liverpool 18 months ago from FC Porto and has been one of the club’s most important attacking players, with the forward this summer taking the no. 7 shirt left vacant by James Milner. And the South American is now attracting transfer interest.

With Fabinho and Jordan Henderson inching closer to Saudi Arabia moves, it is perhaps no real surprise that Al-Hilal, arguably the biggest club in the Middle East, are now looking at signing Diaz, who would be quite the statement addition for Jorge Jesus’ side.

However, Liverpool appear more stern on their stance on Diaz when it comes to a possible departure, with Al-Hilal now seemingly facing little hope of landing the Colombian international even after a massive bid of £43m being submitted.

Lauded by Jurgen Klopp as an ‘unbelievable’ player, Diaz is set for a big year at Liverpool having missed most of last season out through injury. And this surprise offer from Al-Hilal should be something the Reds are extremely stern on this summer.

As we know, Liverpool can’t afford to lose a talent like Diaz to Saudi Arabia, and whilst the winger might take some time to return to his absolute best, there’s no denying that the Colombian will be key for the Reds next season and for many more years to come.
